THE CHATEAU ROOMS
Château de Puy Vidal offers eight unique guest rooms featuring options for both private and shared bathrooms. These bedrooms span the historic central wing dating back to 1267, the west wing, and the pavilion, each with its own distinctive atmosphere.

Stay tuned as future renovations will bring even more room options for upcoming seasons.
Toile Suite | Room 1
Nestled in the Château’s historical central wing, dating back to 1267, the light-filled Toile de Jouy Suite offers an inviting setup for friends who wish to share a bathroom while enjoying their own private bedrooms. Accessible via the Renaissance spiral staircase, this suite features Queen beds in each room and private access to the shared bathroom, balancing personal space with the charm of a shared suite. Perfect for solo travelers or friends attending a retreat, this suite captures the timeless essence of the Château’s rich history.
Toile Suite | Room 2
Located in the oldest part of the Château, Toile de Jouy Suite Room 2 mirrors the elegance and thoughtful layout of Room 1. Accessible by elevator, it features a Queen bed and private access to a shared bathroom, blending the convenience of modern comfort with the ambiance of a historical setting. Ideal for a solo guest or friends sharing the Château experience, this bright and charming room infuses every stay with a touch of timeless elegance.
King Room
The largest and most sumptuous bedroom in the Château. the King Room is named for the tradition of every Château keeping its most beautiful chambers ready for the king to visit at any time on his journeys throughout the land. A large Alexander the Great tapestry hangs behind the bed, inlay furnishings adorn the room, and opposite the bed is an imposing renaissance fireplace. Look out to the formal gardens to the north as well as the courtyard to the south form the double exposure windows. At night, close the internal shutters to get a deep nights sleep.

This room has a private bathroom. Perfect for a couple, or friends who are happy sharing a bed.
Medieval Tower
Step back into medieval times with a stay in this enchanting stone tower, nestled in the southwest corner of Puy Vidal. This unique and immersive room offers a truly authentic experience, perfect for the solo traveler seeking a deeper connection to the Château’s rich history.

The bathroom is shared with the Medieval tower bedroom. Both bedrooms have a private entrance to the bathroom. As it has a shared bathroom, this room is only suitable for a solo booking.
Rose Room
Step into the Rose Room, one of our most spacious room and the only guest room nestled in the West Wing, exuding the timeless charm of the French countryside. Perfect for up to two guests, it offers a serene view of the interior courtyard, inviting moments of calm and relaxation.
This beloved room will undergo a refreshing transformation during our Winter 2024 hiatus.

NEW ROOMS | COMING 2025
Lafayette Room
At the end of the Historic Wing hallway waits a resplendent room with magnificently tall beamed ceilings, silk pink wall fabric, a renaissance fireplace, and a canopy over the bed. This is, in fact, the bedroom where General Lafayette is said to have stayed during a visit to Puy Vidal, before departing to the Americas. A romantic room for a couple, or a beautiful retreat for a fairy tale escape, this room truly envelops one in the Chateau experience. This room has a king sized bed.

The bathroom is shared with the Medieval tower bedroom. Both bedrooms have a private entrance to the bathroom. As it has a shared bathroom, this room is only suitable for a solo booking.
Pavilion Room | North Side
Discover the charm of the Château Pavilion in the newly available rooms located on the third floor in the northwest corner of the Château. This wing will be guest ready for our 2025 workshop season.
Ascend to the top of the Pavilion in to your guest quarter into this is perfect for a solo artist, offering a cozy Queen-sized bed and delightful ship oval windows that overlook the English garden and the north lawn and labyrinth of Puy Vidal.​

Pavilion Room | South Side
The second Pavilion Room will also be guest ready for our 2025 workshop season. This guest room is perfect for a solo artist, offering a cozy Queen-sized bed and delightful ship oval windows that overlook the English garden and the West Wing of the Château.
